No, you don’t need to enter again. Log in to Register Now HERE if you wish to check the details of your entry. Please note that as jerseys are not included this year, you will need to add one to your entry if you wish to receive a jersey. You can add a jersey to your registration by logging in prior to the close of the Early Bird period and proceeding through the checkout.

In 2023 there are new registration categories. These include:

  • Early Bird (WestCycle Member Special) from 9am Thursday 17 November through to 9am Tuesday 24 November 2022
  • First Release (Limited Availability) from 9am Tuesday 24 November 2022 until sold out
  • Second Release (Limited Availability) after first release and until sold out
  • Third Release (Limited Availability) after second release and until sold out

The following terms apply:

  • Pricing is inventory-based according to slot quantities and will automatically increase when capacity has been filled.
  • There will be an automatic increase to second release pricing at 11:59pm (AWST) on 31 December 2022 if this Tier is not reached prior.
  • Entries close 5 April 2023. Late entries may be taken subject to availability. Late entry surcharge fee will be charged.
  • Jersey available until 31 December 2022.

You may edit your chosen merchandise size until the early bird period closes at Midnight on December 31, 2022.

Instructions on how to do this can be found on the Register Now Support Hub HERE. After this period, merchandise size changes will not be offered.

WestCycle has a strict no refund policy for the Dams Challenge.

You may transfer your entry to another rider, Please email the team at WestCycle via info@westcycle.org.au.

Please note that if the transfer occurs after the early bird period closes, you will be unable to change the size or category of any merchandise originally purchased.

Please follow us on social media to stay up to date with all things Dams. We will also keep this webpage regularly updated in the lead up to the event. All registered participants will receive regular emails leading in to the event with any relevant information they’ll need to know.

Riders must be aged 16 years or older on the day of the event. Riders aged between 16 and 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and must complete the exemption form. Complete the form HERE.

Yes, a cloaking service will be provided at the event. Please look out for the signs at the event for the drop off location. The location will also be noted on the map in the Rider Guide.

This event is NOT a race, it is a personal challenge. How you choose to ride the event is up to you. Relax and enjoy the social atmosphere amongst friends, or smash your way to a PB. It’s completely up to you!

We recommend choosing your distance according to what you would like to get out of the event.

A license is not required to participate in this event. We strongly recommend that riders become a WestCycle Premium Ride Member to ensure they are covered 24/7 for personal accidents and public liability whenever and wherever they ride, including at events such as the Dams. You can find out more and become a member HERE to receive discounted entry pricing and access to the exclusive Couch to Dams training and discount program.

Compulsory equipment:

  • A legal and roadworthy bicycle
    • eBikes are welcome – please specify that you will be riding an e-bike when entering
    • All types of bicycles are allowed, however make sure to consider the distance and intensity of your chosen ride when selecting the kind of bicycle you will use. A road bicycle is strongly recommended
    • Time trial bikes are NOT recommended due to the nature of the course and safety considerations
  • A helmet (Australian Standard)
  • A white front and red rear light
  • Puncture repair kit including spare tube(s)
  • 2 x drink bottles
  • Extra food supplies

Strongly recommended equipment:

  • Mobile phone
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Gloves
  • Credit card or cash in case of emergency

Unfortunately not. Our fantastic Pedal Mafia jerseys and bib knicks are made-to-order and require manufacturing lead time so they can arrive in time for you to enjoy them on the day of the event – and beyond. Please make sure to enter prior to 1:59pm on 31 December, 2022 to secure any merchandise.

No problem. Sign in to your entry any time HERE. Please note we will not be able to accept any changes to merchandise after midnight on December 31, 2022. Other changes to your entry may be made up until midnight on 5th April 2023.

We will be offering pack collections prior to the event day. Due to the large number of entrants that the Dams Challenge attracts, we are unable to facilitate on-day pack collections. All packs will need to be collected during the pack collection period. Details about pack collection will be communicated closer to the event date on the WestCycle website and via email.

You could ride, catch public transport, or drive to the event. Plan your trip to the event with Transperth HERE.

Free parking will be available at the event village on the day, accessible only via Champion Drive (Henley Drive access will be closed).

Yes. A video briefing will be uploaded to the Dams Challenge website prior to the event and emailed to all registered riders.

An on-day briefing will also be held prior to the start of each event category.

If you are no longer able to attend the Dams Challenge and want to transfer your entry to another person, you can most certainly do so.

For those who purchased an Event Jersey, the Original Rider will still receive this merchandise. If the New Rider (Transferee) is wanting to purchase this jersey off the original rider, this will be up to the discretion of the original rider. Payment will then need to organised by the the two parties involved.
